Welcome to the latest installment from the Journey Planner team, with this week’s summary of our data updates. These include all forthcoming bus service 1and stop changes for timetables which are available on Journey Planner, as well as in the Journey Planner API.

This is a brief summary of this week’s new data highlights:

Timetables

Buses

Routes 318 and 349 will be revised at Stamford Hill from Saturday 9 April, and will now start and terminate in Rookwood Road.

New Route 633 starts from Monday 11 April: it will operate on schooldays only from Coulsdon South to Beddington Church in the morning, returning in the afternoon, and replaces existing school journeys on Route 463.

Route 62 is converted to full double deck operation from Saturday 30 April and will operate more frequently on Monday to Saturday evenings and during the day on Sunday.

London Underground

New base timetables are introduced on the Bakerloo, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines from the weekend of 1, 2 and 3 April and are now available.

River

All Spring and Summer timetables are now available on Journey Planner, the unified API and in TransXChange.

Tramlink

A new timetable starts on Monday 4 April, and is now available on Journey Planner and the unified API, as well as in the TransXChange upload.

Stops

A small selection of coordinate and name changes have been made this week including the removal of redundant Hail and Ride points.

London Underground

New base timetables are introduced on the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines, on weekdays, from Friday 1 April, and for Sunday only from Sunday 3 April.

Paddington Station closes to Bakerloo line trains from Saturday 2 April, and this is reflected in Journey Planner and the unified API. Please note that base timetables still include a time value for Paddington.

Engineering works timetables for trains and replacement buses are now in place for the next three weekends.

DLR

Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 April, no service between Westferry / Poplar and Island Gardens, with a replacement bus service in operation – information is now available on Journey Planner.

River

All Spring and Summer timetables are now available on Journey Planner, the unified API and in TransXChange.

Tramlink

Tramlink will be closed between Reeves Corner and Sandilands in both directions from Good Friday 25 March until Saturday 2 April. Revised timetables for tram services have now been added, there will be no replacement buses. A new timetable is scheduled to begin from Monday 4 April and is now available in Journey Planner and the Unified API.

62 The route will be operated by low floor wheelchair accessible double deck vehicles at all times. New timetables with no changes to frequencies, except that bus frequency is improved to every 15 minutes on Monday to Saturday evenings and during the day on Sunday. 60-62

New Stops and Stations and Stop Adjustments

Please note that these would be reflected in bus timetables shown above, where appropriate. Uploads of stop data to NaPTAN are sent weekly and should usually be available on Friday mornings. In addition, we are carrying out a detailed audit of all stops in London over the coming weeks to ensure they are named correctly and have the right coordinates.

  1. When do you plan to update the feed that creates the Timetable page? The results for Tram Line 3 still show old timetable information i.e. a service between Wimbledon and Croydon every 7/8 minutes instead of every 5.

      Hi, apologies for the delay in getting back to you. We’ve looked into this and it has been raised as an issue internally and we’re now looking into it. We hope to have this resolved very soon. Also, for your info, trams live arrivals are now available on our website and in our Unified API.

      2. Hi James. We’ve taken a feed from an existing trams operational system to generate the live arrivals data. Trams live disruptions will also be available later this year, and we’ll keep you posted on this blog when there’s any news.
