  2. When is the journey planner going to be fixed so that the VIA option actually works?

As an example, try planning a journey
    From: Walthamstow Central
    To: Tower Hill Underground Station
    Travel preferences:
Via Victoria Park Road, Hackney (London)

    The resulting journey is:

Victoria line to Seven Sisters Underground Station
    London Overground to Liverpool Street
Circle line to Tower Hill Underground Station

This uses only train and tube, but Victoria Park Road can be reached only by bus or on foot — therefore, the journey clearly is NOT going via Victoria Park Road.

I’d suggest also that for maximum benefit, the VIA option also needs a “staying for xx minutes” option — in most cases, people would go via a location because they have something to do there, which means they will need to remain at the via point for some time before leaving again.

Thanks – although we appreciate this is not clear on the website – the “via” option only works when a station or bus stop is entered. There could be scope to make this clearer in the future as well as adding the staying time you have suggested.
