I am delighted that TfL has teamed up with Ticketmaster to run a joint hackathon as part of London Tech Week, a festival of live events across the city that showcases the best of tech and provides networking, social, learning and business opportunities.

It brings together science and creative types, corporates and grass roots, start-ups and scale-ups.

Ticketmaster opened up their platform last year, with APIs allowing developers to benefit from its data. So far they have run 10 hackathons around the world, to engage with developer communities.

At TfL, we have also run a number of hackathons, and over 12,000 registered application developers and organisations now use our open data and free-to-access Unified API, to power over 600 London travel apps.

This joint hack day is intended to inspire the next generation of apps to provide meaningful experiences for both London residents and visitors, seeking the best live experiences and the best means of getting there. Essentially bringing together event data with transport data, and to develop a great new app!

Come and be part of this exciting future, and bring your ideas to life. While using your creativity and imagination, you’ll get to collaborate with the cream of London’s tech community and innovate on cool new tech.
I’m looking forward to seeing some great innovative ideas that supports our customers.

The hackathon is free to attend, just register for the event here.
